DRUK PATH TREK - 5 NIGHTS | 6 DAYS

The Druk Path Trek is among Bhutan’s most scenic and rewarding short trekking routes, following an ancient trade trail that links the beautiful valleys of Paro and Thimphu. The journey takes trekkers through spectacular rhododendron forests, alpine yak pastures, and pristine mountain lakes filled with snowy mountain trout, offering a perfect blend of natural beauty and cultural heritage.

The trek begins with a gradual climb through apple orchards and dense pine forests, leading to the ruins of Jele Dzong, a historic fortress perched on a grassy ridge. From here, trekkers are rewarded with breathtaking views of Mount Jumolhari rising majestically in the north. Over the following days, the trail ascends above the tree line and crosses several high mountain passes, including the Phume La Pass at 4,210 meters.

Along the route, trekkers encounter crystal-clear alpine lakes, traditional yak herders’ camps, and magnificent panoramic views of the eastern Himalayas along the Bhutan–Tibet border. Peaks such as Mount Jumolhari, Jichu Drake, and Gangkar Puensum dominate the skyline, creating unforgettable mountain scenery. The trek concludes with a descent through fragrant pine and juniper forests, passing the peaceful Phadjoding Monastery before reaching Thimphu, Bhutan’s vibrant capital city.
